In January 2005, Grifco International purchased KO-VAC Systems, a provider of vacuum based disposal unit with electrical and diesel systems for fluid and/or solid clean up. KO-VAC is skid mounted and easily transported to any location, no matter how remote. Units may be transported separately or with the components necessary to conduct multiple operations. Grifco has already secured a contract with Halliburton to send several units to Mexico, with additional units on deck as they become available. Grifco estimates the acquisition to be worth $2 million per year after twelve months, and generate $4-5 million in the first 2 years.
KO-VAC has a history of providing first class service and equipment both onshore and offshore to the oil industry in support of environmental clean-ups as far away as India . The purchase awards Grifco International, Inc. the ability to manufacture all size units for sale worldwide while Grifco develops plans for several innovations and upgrades to the units. Every major oil company is a potential customer and business relationships with the KO-VAC units will be pursued. Grifco International, Inc. is already working on contracts in Mexico to place the equipment. All environmental services will be contacted and made aware of Grifco International, Inc. and KO-VAC Services and equipment.
The benefits of the ko-vac system:
Virtually eliminates the need for supplement diaphragm pumps.
PVC pipe may be connected to the tank and plumbed around the entire rig for easy access to critical areas such as mud pits, shale shaker, pollution pan, rig floor, ect.
Instant vacuum ( no waiting ). start it up and its ready to work.
Saves money by reducing manpower and down time, and by recycling expensive drilling mud back into the system.
Powerful 50 hp electric or 75 hp diesel engines with custom built mufflers, some units encapsulated.
Handles a heavy ( up to 19 lbs.) slurry. Excellent for heavy oil based mud.
Uses 3 inch hoses, not 2 inch like smaller units. will not clog.
Custom fabricated, light weight aluminum wands connected to 2 inch tail hoses for easy use.
Simple, written operations instructions mounted on each unit for easy, safe operation by rig employees.
